Hopefully everyone enjoyed their labor day and refused to labor today. I enjoyed with a friend on a hike in el Chorro Park. We did not see any rattlesnakes this time, but did not long ago at Montana de Oro. He was a big one and shook his tail at his. Surprising he did not strike at us. I do not know why he left us alone, but then again, I do not know rattlers.
All that has to be done to get a rattling snake to leave you alone is turn and walk the other way. People stand there, prod, poke, and toss rocks, then call the snake "aggressive." They rattle as a warning, so take heed :)
